Thanks be to Alan

Happy birthday, sir.

"I am . . . not . . . amused."

Seriously, happy birthday to Alan Rickman, the mortal man who made our favourite character immortal on film -- and in the hearts of many, provided he wasn't already there.

These amazing, creative cakes appeared for Snape's birthday on social media, but I'll repost them today.

"What do you mean with this? Are these cakes? Presumed edibles? Well, they are repulsive. Get back to work."

"That's better."

And a shout-out to Mr. Nettleship who, besides being born, inspired the birth of Severus Snape by means of his teaching style and perhaps a bit of assholishness in the mix, as well.
 Hey, he's not half bad-looking.

Back when I was a teenager:
"Mom? I feel kind of silly, thinking actors like George Clooney or Alan Rickman are sexy; I know they're a lot older than I am."
Mom:
"That's fine, honey. That's normal. I mean, I like Gary Cooper, and he's dead."

LOL, and RIP.
