Alirian Happenings, Neat and Not-so-much

July 9th proved to be a mixed bag of blessings, if you could call them such, in regard to my continuing-if-sporadic work with my Dark goddess!

My icon of Her is progressing nicely, considering I'm working up to sixty hours a week, and late that night I started painting in her dress of flame. The oil turned out so beautifully. The palette alone is fun to observe, with all its colors:

However, earlier in the day saw Aliria behaving in more of Her usual, sneaky and messy fashion. I'd ordered a sample of a rare crude from Nebraska, ~1950 --- Nebraska never has been a large producer of oil --- and the seller, in an attempt to prevent a leak due to one of the antique bottles' caps being partly broken, placed the oil in a pill jar without a seal inside the lid!
